What to Expect
Before:
- Discontinue use of topical retinoids and hydroquinone 5 days prior to your treatment (this includes tretinoin and retinol)
- Avoid any prolonged sun exposure, if you must be in the sun make sure to use a mineral sunscreen SPF 40+
During:
- Arrive with a clean face, no numbing required
- The handheld AdvaTx device is moved across the treatment area, delivering 589nm and 1319nm wavelengths to different depths of the skin
- Most sessions last 30–60 minutes depending on the area
After:
- If treating melasma, the area may darken slightly before fading
- No social downtime – you can return to your normal activities right away
- Use gentle skincare and avoid sun exposure for one week post treatment
How many sessions are needed?
Most clients see results in one session, however for best results we do recommend 3 treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
